Obituary from the Haslingden and Rawtenstall Express newspaperDavid Whitehead died on the 24th January 1865 aged 74.

The late David Whitehead Esq - 

This gentlemen died at his residence Holly Mount on Saturday last, in the 74th year of his age.

He was a good man, an exemplary parent and upright judge, in his capacity as a magistrate for this division of the Count.

Many charitable institutions will suffer by his death, and the Wesleyan connection lose a firm friend, a sincere adviser and a liberal contributor to the requirements of their various funds.
