William Windle Pilkington - Death of William Windle Pilkington
In February 1914 he left for Cannes in the South of France for the benefits of his health but unfortunately influenza set in.
In spite of the attentions of the doctors and an eminent London specialist his condition deteriorated and he died on March 15th 1914.
His remains were brought back to England where he had requested a simple funeral. However the streets were lined with throngs between the Congregational Church and the cemetery.
