After his death, he was commemorated in Burnley with a memorial in Thompson Park unveiled in 1931
The Mackenzie Medical Centre at Burnley General Hospital was named after him, opening on 30 June 1966 and a blue plaque has been mounted at his former residence, Bank Parade.
