Lancashire Pioneers - Jeremiah Horrocks

The next transits of Venus

Click to return to Jeremiah Horrocks home page

Transits of Venus are very rare events, but when they do occur they come in pairs 8 years apart.

The last pair of transits were in 1874 and 1882. The last one was in 2004 and the next will be on Jun 5-6 2012. You can get information on the Transit by looking at the websites below - remember to never look directly at the Sun when observing the transit.
